New Staff Members Enhance Operations

A number of recent hires are making their mark at ESP:

Joe Danna, MD is the new Medical Director for Metroplex Hospital in Killeen, TX. In addition, he will serve as the Director of Quality and Practice Development for ESP. One of the first physicians formally trained in an emergency medicine residency, Dr. Danna comes to Central Texas from the Chicago area. He brings 30 years of experience and leadership across the spectrum of emergency services.

Chris Kalinowski, RN is ESP's newest Contract Manager, working with UMC Brackenridge in Austin, Guadalupe Regional Medical Center in Seguin, Seton Edgar B. Davis Hospital in Luling, and Smithville Regional Medical Center. A former ED nursing director, Chris has eight years of health care management experience, focusing on ED customer service and throughput, as well as various ED construction projects.

Yvette Maano is ESP's newest Physician Scheduler, who moved to Austin from New Jersey on July 4 and began working at ESP in August. Yvette has 10 years of hospital experience working as a unit clerk in the post-anesthesia care unit.

Enrique Vazquez is ESP's new Accounting Manager, overseeing a staff responsible for payroll, payables, and receivables. He recently moved to Austin from San Antonio, where he was a controller for a hotel and real estate management company. He earned his bachelor's degree in finance from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio and is pursuing his MBA from The University of Mass. in Amherst.

Keon Flowers joins ESP's human resources department, where he will be handling benefits enrollment, employee on-boarding, and a variety of other HR functions. Originally from the Northeast, Keon settled in San Antonio, graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos, and has worked in a variety of industries including banking and contact centers.

Susan Carmack joined ESP November 1 as Chief Financial Officer, responsible for general financial leadership, managing and supporting the accounting and finance departments, and financial reporting. Susan comes to Austin from The Woodlands, bringing more than 20 years of experience in accounting and finance. Former CFO Cindy Lopez has been appointed to the new position of Chief Business Officer.

Brian Sparks joined ESP in August to fill the new position of Marketing and Communications Manager. Brian's role includes assisting with physician recruiting and business development efforts, as well as internal and external communications. His experience includes similar roles in the real estate industry and with a small firm specializing in clinical research and medical communication.
